It’s hugely important to analyse the way in which users interact with a website, using a good web analytics programme. I use Google Analytics, which is one of the best, and I have a Google Analytics Individual Qualification.

Using Google Analytics I can analyse where visitors come from, how long they stay on a page, what they’re worth, where they go on your site and much more.

Optimising web pages based on analytical data

Analysis on it’s own is not enough. You need to test variations in order to get a better understanding of what works on a web page or HTML email. By conducting hundreds of split tests and multi-variant tests I already have a good idea of what works and what doesn’t. But there is always variation between industries and user groups. Therefore it’s important to continually test variations on your website or in your emails to make sure you’re continually improving and increasing your return on investment.
